About

It's all about feel, vibe and authenticity here at Broadoak. We are dedicated to achieving excellent results, no matter what size project or budget we are working with. Inspired by the great studios of past decades and the many classic albums they have produced, we have invested heavily in great vintage technology, alongside all of the cutting edge digital tools you would expect in a modern recording studio. Our sizeable live room has a high oak beamed ceiling which gives a great sound and acoustic environment and is geared towards recording live performances, where the whole band can play together …

I have worked a number of time with Harvey Summers at both his past and current studio. Besides being an attentive and technically smart engineer, he is a seasoned and talented musician. This makes him a very rare animal in that he understands totally the musicians perpective as well as the engineering disciplines. Harvey has always produced top notch work and products. He always goes the extra mile to make sure you get what you want. He has always exceeded my expectations and every project I have worked with him on I have been proud of.

  • A wealth of experience goes a long way

I've known Harvey for years. Even before he took over Broadoak Studios. Even then he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and ability to literally create sounds out of household objects. Harvey has recorded and produced for Doctor Who audio books, synched and composed an entire movie score, recorded orchestra, choirs and even the ambient noises of local crickets to add atmosphere to a tiny detail of a song. He will go to great lengths to get the exact sound he wants. Harvey's great fun to work with and you'll struggle to find a better equipped studio so stacked with tried and tested gear and someone with the knowledge and experience to make it all happen.

Harvey has created a wonderful space for imagination to flourish, he has accumulated a wealth of fabulous hand picked equipment that he knows inside out. Very quickly an idea can become translated into a full composition mixed with the care and attention to detail of a fine craftsman.
