The Limehouse is a brand new East London Studio billed as offering ‘audiophile recording, mixing and mastering at affordable prices’.
Designed by Recording Architecture and managed by ex-Turnkey Director Rupert Pfaff, the studio overlooks Limehouse Cut Canal and offers natural daylight and air conditioning throughout. The control room is entirely fan-free and all the equipment is run on balanced power to maintain an extremely low electrical and acoustic noise floor. In addition to this, the equipment racks have been designed so that 16 channels can be easily removed as a mobile rig for location recording and a variety of engineers are available to suit all budgets and requirements.
The Limehouse’s live room offers variable acoustics, a vocal booth and amp chamber together with soffit-mounted Quested monitoring and a Hear Technologies foldback system. Other benefits are a large Pro Tools HD5 rig with Apogee convertors and C24 control surface; 24 channels of Focusrite ISA preamps; 30+ mics from Neumann, Blue, Earthworks, Royer and others; a Yamaha C3 grand piano; DW Custom drum kit with Zildjian Custom cymbals; various guitars and synths; a Rhodes Suitcase 88 and a large collection of backline and other instruments.
Early clients include Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Erasure), Elliot Mazer (Neil Young, Janis Joplin), Ministry of Sound, RPO Brass and Yusuf (Cat Stevens).
