Sofa Sound is a West London SSL mix and tracking studio, run by Miloco in partnership with legendary producerHugh Padgham. It is a beautiful, high-end room in a prime location, close to the offices of all the major record labels.
Sofa Sound’s recent clients have included Bryan Ferry, Hard Fi, The Subways, N-Dubz, Brother, The Coral and Hayley Westenra. The studio has also proven to be a popular choice for top producers such as Stephen Street, Bob Clearmountain, Paul ‘P-Dub’ Walton, Ian Tilley and Hugh Padgham himself.
Nick Young, Miloco’s MD told us, ‘One of the main reasons why Sofa Sound continues to be such a big hit with artists and producers, is its world class spec. Centred around a fully automated SSL G+ console, a Pro Tools HD3 system with Apogee convertors and some awesome monitoring, it also offers a whole host of plug-ins and outboard equipment, including rare vintage Neve 1081 and 1064 mic pre’s. The main live room measures 19x19ft and there are two separation booths making it an excellent recording studio, capable of producing a great drum sound. Supplementing Hugh’s fantastic selection of mic preamps is his equally impressive microphone collection, together with a beautiful Yamaha upright piano. A full equipment spec can be found here.
‘Sofa Sound is maintained to an immaculate and luxurious standard. It has plenty of natural light, air-conditioning, 24 hour maintenance and a recreation room with kitchen, SKY TV, pool table and table football. During the summer, clients can enjoy a large roof terrace which provides views across West London. Add to this the local amenities of Chiswick High Road, famed for its broad choice of restaurants and pubs and you will find this fantastic studio is hard to beat.’
