Plato Place in Fulham, SW London, is a recording and production studio owned by publishing and production company Titanium Music. Designed by Rodger D’Arcy and built by Studio Architecture this luxurious and exclusive studio was originally Rick Astley’s private studio and, until recently, has only been available for Titanium’s own producers and artists.
Kate at Titanium told us, “The control room houses large Genelec and Quested monitors which were set up by electro-acoustic engineer Nick Whittaker to deliver an accurate sound so that you can trust your mix when you leave the studio. There is also an impressive programming and live room for up to six musicians which holds the latest production and mixing software (Logic 9, Pro Tools 8 and Pro Tools HD). The main studio also features a Samsung 42” plasma screen for the use of sound-to-picture production as well as external synths and outboard. Valve mics are also available together with a large selection of guitars and other hire equipment (full equipment list here).
“The studio is used for Titanium’s productions and artists but is also increasingly used by other top international artists and producers. For example Patrick Jordan is a regular customer and Grammy Award-winning writer Phil Larson writes in the studio as part of his duo, Manhattan Clique, who have recently remixed tracks for Katy Perry and Chris Brown. Other clients include Sony Music, Syco, Chipmunk, Harmony, Wayne Hector, Lana Del Ray, The Rural, Lemar, Newton Faulkner and Andy Bell.”
Plato Place can be hired with an assistant engineer or an experienced recording and mixing engineer. For further details or bookings enquiries please contact Kate here. (October 2010)
