This month Miloco Studios, in partnership with Nigel Frieda (Matrix Studios) announced the launch of East Point Studios located on the privately-owned Osea Island, off the Essex coast. East Point is a residential SSL recording and mix studio situated in an Edwardian mansion surrounded by magnificent sea views. Accessible via a secret bookcase entrance from the mansion's Billiards room, the control room is equipped with an SSL 4064 E Series 64 channel console with Black EQs and a selection of outboard. The studio offers two large recording booths together with tie line access to the Billiards room if a larger recording space is required.
The island also provides several large, secluded barns and outbuildings where bands, artists or writers can set up their gear. This tranquil and informal setting can be a welcome alternative to an inner city rehearsal room. Clients can also enjoy activities such as sailing, fishing, cycling, walking, swimming (in either a heated outdoor pool or a natural salt water pool), a mini cinema, a gym and a sauna. According to Miloco's recent press release "the whole ethos at Osea is to provide ... an inspiring and secluded environment."
